WISHES TO SUELY
Paula Terra-Neale
Farhi' s work follows on the tendencies of Brazilian contemporary art that mix a sharp concrete art language with a critical and experimental approach to art brought up initially by neoconcretism in the 60s and a conceptual political twist from the 1970s. A postconceptual work imbued of a strong existential ethos. A serious critic of the art market and the status quo with a radical approach to cultural and political issues, Farhi is a Brazilian, architect and artist, female and Jewish, who is permanently challenging the rules and roles that have been assigned to us within the realms of life and art. She has a solid and mature work that deserves further exposure and opportunities. It has been a honour and a pleasure to work with her in the last couple of years.
